No, I’m not done with my Winterwood Sampler, yet! Yes, I’m still working on it! You can check out the Flickr group and see who’s done. I hope to have it done by the New Year. We have a trip to Oregon coming up, so that will be lots of car time to work on it. I think I am going to knit something on that road trip, too! I haven’t decided what just yet.
Yule/Winter Solstice is tomorrow! We are opening gifts tomorrow instead of Christmas since we will be out of town. I am excited! I can’t wait for Bunkers to see his new toys.
I worked on a few handmade gifts for Bunkers (these are the only gifts from us to him because the grandparents have been very gracious and I don’t want to fill our living room with too many toys!). I made him a set of playsilks and a small Waldorf inspired wool bunting baby. They both turned out really well! I already gave them to him. When he saw the doll he proclaimed, “Baby!” without any prompting! Cute cute.
Better late than never! Just sneaking in late Wednesday night…
I’m joining Ginny again this week for Yarn Along. Here’s what I’m currently working on in the fiber arts world, and what I’m currently reading:
Still working on my Stitch Along with Ginny’s group! I love the little pictures. So fun how it all comes together.
I’ve also cast on a new item for my shop (if you can call it that! Half cast on! Haha. The toddler wasn’t very interested in me knitting today!) – winter time headbands/earmuffs. I hope to churn out several this week to get them posted before gift giving season.
I have far too many books on my plate currently. I put down The Limits of Enchantment in favor of knitting/cross stitching and haven’t picked it back up, but it is still on my ‘current’ shelf, so alas. I am also still reading the GAPS book as we started the Intro diet (again) this week. It’s going much better this time! But, today I’ve been thumbing through the two Waldorf Education books I got at the library. And eyeing up a cross stitch book I got there, too. Such gorgeous ideas!
Join up with us for the Yarn Along!
I’ve been working on my Stitch Along with Ginny’s group and I’m really loving it! I have been (carefully) doing it in the car (while my husband is driving!!) and while the baby naps. It’s slow progress, but I’m catching up! I have not given myself a timeline like ‘do one letter every other day’ or anything, because then it starts to feel like a chore… and my mind is very fickle about that stuff! So, I’ve just been doing it as I can, when I can and it’s coming along. The hoop in the below picture is covering the cute tea pot… I love that little one. So cute.
I also have on my plate today doing some canning! I’m new to canning. I’ve only canned twice in my life. I canned orange marmelade (flop) and honey cranberries (success) two Christmases ago. I bought a bunch of apples, so it’s my plan to do some applesauce. Bunkers likes apples, but still has a hard time eating them ‘Baby Led Weaning’ style, so I’m fine with him having a puree in this area. Plus, I think it will be a nice way to get his supplements in! Just a few drops on a spoonful of applesauce should help them go down easy!
I also hope to have a pinch of time this evening to do a bit of Etsy work. My shop has been awfully neglected, so I’m planning to do a few new postings and make up a few items. I need to do a bit of an overhaul as far as my branding/image goes. I don’t have the time or energy for that right now! I did just make a bit of an impulse purchase, though… I bought 3 dozen wood and sasil rope doll basis to make some Waldorf style gnomes, fairies and dolls. Hope DH doesn’t roll his eyes at me!
